Daniel & Shareeest. July 31, 2006 The Engagement

I flew home Saturday morning (January 12, 2008) to finish last min details for April's baby shower that I was hosting. Then I helped get dinner ready for game night with my daddy's side of the family! Mom arranged a scavenger hunt for the little kids. However, some of the smaller kids would need the older kids to help read the clue cards. My little nephew said he wanted "Aunt Sheee.”  Austin and I were doing good! THEN, the card said the roles are reserved. The big kids have to be blind folded and the little kids have to lead us!  (oh great I have my 4 y.o. nephew leading me into walls).

They finally sat us down and give us something to hold and we had to guess what was. Shane (cousin) guessed money and got it right. I guessed money got it wrong. Then he went around the room of blind foldee's.

I was again asked and as I tried to answer someone stood me up, took my blind fold off and Daniel (who was supposed to be in Canyon ... NOT El Paso) got on one knee in front of all my family (aunt’s uncle’s, cousin’s, his mom and friends) and said “We have grown close in the past year and half.... and I want to grow closer to you for the rest of my life I love you ... Will you marry me?”   I stood him up kissed his sweet lips and said yes!! (I was naturally crying) He placed the ring on my finger and told me it was my mother's stone from her original ring before she got an upgrade. My mom and dad built the strongest marriage I know on that stone and I cant think of a better stone to build mine on!

Several people asked him why did you do with all her family. And my answer to that is he knows how much my family means to me, he knows what I would have wanted. He knows me! I would not have wanted it ANY OTHER WAY!
